After a stringent selection process, Brian, Leslie, Lillian (5) and Aidan (7) Doyle are the fortunate family partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build a new house on Andrew Street right here in Newmarket. The Doyle’s currently live in a basement apartment. This partnership will make a huge difference in their lives. It will mean stability, investment, in addition to having a home for their family.
They are required to put in 500 volunteer hours as well as engaging friends and family to assist in the build. OneChurch Southlake are doing everything possible to extend the reach and help this family.
The build will begin in late August or early September and hopefully if all goes well, the Doyle family will be in their new home by Christmas.
Anyone interested in helping to build this home should go to the Habitat office. It is located at the corner of Church and Eagle Street, right here in Newmarket. There you can provide your information. You need to be 16 years of age or older. Work boots, hardhats and tools are supplied. There is a project manager on site to assist. There are also days set aside as “Women’s Build” days.
If you are unable to build, there are plenty of opportunities to help out, whether it be by bringing coffee and donuts for the workers or making them a chili lunch.
