We sometimes join forces with organizations within our community to assist in whatever way we can.
Christian Horizons – St. Paul’s partners with CH to provide special programming for adults with intellectual disabilities. CH is a province-wide organization providing various services to people with exceptional needs.
The Newmarket Food Pantry – Many members of St. Paul’s participate in the running of the local food bank. Volunteers serve either in direct service to clients or on the board. People regularly donate food to the bank by bringing in items on Sunday morning.
York Region Media Group – St. Paul’s unites with YRMG (better known in Newmarket as the local paper “The Era”) each year to raise money for the Santa Fund.
Inn from the Cold – Many parishioners donate their time and talents several times a year at the Community Meals held at the shelter. Others volunteer their time assisting clients at the shelter.
St. John Ambulance – Both an adult group and a youth group use our facilities on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
Romanian Orthodox Church – A mission parish (dedicated to Romania’s most popular holy woman, St. Parascheva) has operated out of St. Paul’s. Celebrations of the Divine Liturgy are held Sunday afternoons and other services are held from time to time. Father Mihail (“Mike”) Cristea is the priest in charge.
